This is about 1975 the back country behind Ekatahuna.

Case bulldozers were the affordable choice of the day. Very quick with their power shift transmission and generally did 4 runs up and down the hills whereas the Cat D4 did 3.

However you didn’t get rich owning them.

Pictured here is a 1150 and 750. Fitted with root rakes they did huge amount of clearing of manuka, scrub and gorse in that era.

Notice the Possum up the tree feeling like its days are numbered!
